Achieving ocular surface control can be particularly important before cataract surgery, where an unstable ocular surface can compromise reliable biometry and surgical planning. In this case study, Elias Golschan of Goethe-University Frankfurt describes a patient with advanced dry eye disease and suspected Sjögren's syndrome whose surgery had been postponed because the ocular surface was insufficiently stable for reliable preoperative assessment.
