Haag-Streit has announced the reopening of its annual “Slit Lamp Imaging Competition,” now entering its eighth consecutive year.
Established as a global platform for clinical imaging excellence, the competition invites eye care professionals, imaging specialists, and slit lamp enthusiasts from around the world to submit outstanding images and videos. Open to participants of all experience levels, the competition highlights both the scientific value and the visual impact of ophthalmic imaging across a broad spectrum of eye conditions.
Since its launch, says the company, "the Slit Lamp Imaging Competition has evolved into an internationally recognized showcase of the precision, detail, and storytelling made possible through slit lamp technology. The 2025 competition attracted 384 submissions from 32 countries, reflecting the strength and diversity of the global imaging community. Entries are evaluated based on image quality, technical execution, and pathological relevance."
Last year’s overall winner of the imaging category was Kasi Sandhanam of the Singapore National Eye Centre, Singapore, whose composite image (see top of page), captured on a Haag-StreitBX 900, stood out for its technical precision and artistic presentation. For the 2026 competition, an international judging panel will once again bring together expertise in ophthalmology, professional imaging, and slit lamp technology. Returning judges include Marc Curchod, Cynthia VandenHoven, and Jacqui Kenyon. Slit lamp imaging specialist Marcel Meyer joins the panel in 2026.
Submissions for the Slit Lamp Imaging Competition 2026 opened on March 30, 2026, and close on July 30, 2026. Winners will be announced on September 30, 2026, via Haag-Streit’s digital and social media channels.
"Exceptional prizes, selected by Haag-Streit imaging professionals, await the winning participants."
Full entry details and submission guidelines are available on the competition website.
