I believe if we give the patient a tangible experience, they can better understand their condition and become more compliant with their treatments.   Bascom Palmer has long been known for leadership utilizing technology in providing clinical care. The pandemic kicked our telemedicine, virtual care and remote monitoring programs into high gear. Ophthalmology lends itself to telehealth or virtual care because digital images of the eye can be transmitted to our specialists from almost anywhere. We are also developing home testing and monitoring devices so patients will be able to check their intraocular pressures or visual fields.
